Description

THE MISSION

OroraTech is developing a constellation of nano- and micro-satellites with thermal infrared cameras for automated wildfire detection, severe weather warnings, and many other applications. After launching several prototypes, we are currently orbiting the first constellation of 8 satellites in space, while developing an improved satellite platform to be launched in early 2026.
We are seeking talented engineers to support us with the development, design and testing of our satellite systems. They will be joining a very motivated and highly enthusiastic team of experts in the fields of mechanical, optics, electronics, spacecraft, and software engineering.

RELEVANT SKILLS

  • At least 2 years working experience in the industry
  • Preferred if relevant experience is within the field of aerospace
  • Preferred 5 years of experience
  • Practical experience (acquired at prior jobs, internships, university projects, etc.) in:
  • Electronics design with Altium Designer or similar software.
  • Programming and scripting: RaspberryPi, Arduino, Python, C/C++, etc.
  • Using lab equipment: oscilloscope, logic analyzer, hand soldering & reflow.
  • Hands-on work (tell us about your side-projects!)
  • Optional: Experience in Embedded/FPGA Systems
  • Well organized and communicative
  • You are good in recognizing timeline, monetary or design related risks and communicate them early and effectively.
  • You know how to reliably work with a task or ticketing project-management system like wrike.
  • You find effective ways documenting your work and telling others about it using software like slack and confluence.
  • Basic Linux/Unix knowledge (SSH and shell usage)
  • Motivation to tackle a wide variety of challenges – looking beyond your job description.
  • Fluent English skills (C1)
Responsibilities

As an Electronics Engineer you will:

  • Take responsibility for the electronics within individual projects, such as developing a new satellite subsystem, an experimental payload system, a new camera backend, or even an entire satellite, depending on your experience.
  • Design electronics hardware for upcoming satellite missions, ground support, and testing.
  • Be involved in all aspects of PCB design, from initial concept to schematic capture, mixed-signal PCB layout, production drawing generation, and manufacturing orders.
  • Perform hands-on inspections, debugging, and board bring-up of newly assembled PCBs.
  • Assist with the assembly, integration, and testing of flight hardware.
  • Participate in design reviews, from the system level down to individual circuits.
  • Establish and maintain contacts with manufacturing houses.
