JOB DESCRIPTION:

This is an excellent opportunity for an Electronics Engineer to join our dedicated engineering team to strengthen our capabilities in New Product Design and Development, fast respond to market and customers’ needs, support production of the company’s new and existing product portfolios and assist growth of the business.

The product ranges you will be working on include a full range of aircraft fit equipment such as illuminated control panels, light plates, switch panels, display bezels and keyboards. These units consist of a vast range of special features, including:

  • LED panels
  • Night Vision Goggle (NVIS) panels
  • Miniature filament lamp panels
  • Simulator units including LCD technology
  • Integrated panels – switch legends, annunciators, toggle and rotary switches

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum BSc (Hons) 2:1 or above in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • Advanced understanding of electronic components and circuit design
  • Advanced understanding of C++ programming and the use of micro-controllers
  • Experience working with Altium or other PCB design software
  • Ability to identify electronic faults and strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical and computational capability
  • Ability to work to tight timescales with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work independently and in a team with a variety of people and on multiple projects at any one time
  • Excellent communication, organisation and time management
  • Pre-employment you will be required to undertake a basic security check known as Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS)
Responsibilities
  • Formalise and produce effective design solutions to meet customer requirements
  • Perform a full life-cycle product development from design to manufacture, manage project plans, track and deliver projects on time and on budget
  • Where required, work with external test houses to qualify products to meet customer specifications
  • Provide product documentation which may include test procedures, calculations, technical datasheets, installation instructions and technical reports in line with customer requirements
  • Participate in a full life-cycle product development process including Critical Design Review (CDR)
  • Provide technical assistance to Production team and resolve issues in manufacturing processes
  • Provide technical assistance to Sales team and carry out product selection to meet customer needs
  • Keep abreast of current engineering practices and standards, e.g. IPC, MIL and DEF to generate and maintain in-house Engineering Standards
