FUNCTION

Barco Healthcare Diagnostic Imaging develops and sells novel high-tech displays that provide medical images to doctors (e.g. radiologists) in exceptional quality to allow them to make the correct medical diagnosis.
To help with the product development, the Research & Development department is looking for a creative and hands-on electronics engineering technician that will be part of an international team. You will be responsible for building prototype displays in different phases of the development as well as building and using laboratory setups to verify their performance. As electronics engineering technician, you will get in touch with a variety of new technologies and contribute to the future of healthcare.
We are looking for self-directed, collaborative, and flexible person with a strong affinity to mechanics and electronics.
Please note that this position requires to work onsite at the Barco headquarters in Kortrijk, Belgium.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • bachelor degree in electro-mechanics, or similar by experience
  • a problem-solving and pro-active attitude
  • creative with technology and diligent with documentation
  • strong communication skills in Dutch and English
  • a first work experience, note that also graduates are welcome
  • knowledge about programming and/or optics is a plus

As an electronics engineering technician, you will be part of an incredible and experienced diagnostic imaging team and;

  • build prototypes in different phases of the product development cycle under guidance of the development engineers;
  • test displays to verify and validate their performance, and build laboratory setups to do so;
  • provide overall support to the development team in the domains of mechanics, electronics and optics, from the first concepts until transfer to manufacturing;
  • assist both the R&D and production colleagues to solve technical problems
