POSITION SUMMARY
The Electronics Engineering Technologist is responsible for providing corrective and preventive maintenance, and installation of electronic and mechanical/electrical equipment throughout the hospital.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma in a recognized 3 year Electronics/Electrical Engineering Technologist Program required.
- Membership with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians & Technologists (OACETT) or willing to get within six (6) months of hire required.
- Minimum two years’ experience in direct practical repair with knowledge of solid state circuits and associated applications is required.
- Experience working in a Hospital/Healthcare environment is preferred.
- Experience in repairing other mechanical components and equipment is preferred.
- Experience in repair and installation of computer equipment associated with Facilities Management systems is preferred.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) and Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
- Demonstrated knowledge in nurse call systems, security systems, code white, and infant abduction systems specific to health care.
- Demonstrated sound leadership, resourcefulness, and communication skills in English both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated emotional stability, maturity, self-confidence, reliability, dependability, and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to follow verbal and written instructions and accept supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to sustain pressure of work and flexibility in ordering/re-ordering priorities.

- Demonstrated ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and operational maintenance manuals.
