Job Description Job Title: Electronics Lab Technician Working Pattern: Full-time Working location: West Lafayette, IN (5 days a week onsite) As Electronics Lab Technician, you will perform skilled duties in the testing, troubleshooting, repair, harness build, operate and maintain real time simulator, PCB modifications, and calibration of equipment in the Electronics Lab; maintain and repair lab equipment, and perform related work as required. You will work with controls engineers on prototyping and development activities for control systems product. Travel will be local up to 10-15% Why Rolls-Royce? What you will be doing With this attractive opportunity you will get a chance to: Perform or scheduled lab equipment maintenance to ensure working order Perform product verification and validation testing Diagnose electrical problem and troubleshoot how to correct them using wiring schematics, repair manuals, and part catalogs as necessary Inspect and test equipment and components to diagnose malfunctions Assists the Controls Engineer with developing, managing, and implementing projects as needed. Basic Requirements: High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of electronics experience; OR Associate degree with 2 plus years of electronics experience; OR Technical Degree, or equivalent combination of experience and education To be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen Preferred Requirements: Perform PCB assembly, modification, and repair, including soldering of surface-mount and through-hole components. Set up and maintain lab test equipment, fixtures, and instrumentation. Familiarity with cable/harness fabrication, manual soldering Experience with IPC Electronics Manufacturing Acceptability Standards. Experience with Electro-static Discharge (ESD) protection. Experience with asset and facilities management. Problem solving techniques and Root Cause Analysis Support engineers in electrical and environmental testing, data collection, and documentation. Assist in prototype builds, wiring harnesses, and component evaluation. Follow engineering instructions, schematics, and technical drawings to execute test and modification tasks. Ensure adherence to ESD, safety, and quality standards in all lab operations. Contribute to the maintenance of lab inventory, organization, and process documentation.
