Description JOB DESCRIPTION Title: Production Manager – Electronics Division Division: Electronics Division General Purpose: The Production Manager is responsible for all aspects of Electronics operations including scheduling, inventory management, personnel, and quality control. Provides leadership, coaching, and accountability to ensure that performance metrics are met. Highlights problems and drives continuous improvement activities to decrease costs and increase performance to execute on the operational strategy. Essential Functions: Supervise and lead up to 10 employees including Assemblers, SMT operators, and Shipping and Receiving. Resolves employee conflicts as they arise. Enforces policies contained in the Fleetwood Handbook and the procedures defined in the Quality Manual. Completes annual performance reviews. Interviews, hires, coaches, and mentors production employees to maintain appropriate staffing levels and build future bench strength. Manage all aspects of material movement from raw supplied material to finished goods to the customer, i.e., schedules the purchase of inventory to maintain production, manage risk, and control costs. Monitors vendor performance and completes vendor evaluations, including establishing new vendors and discontinuing vendors. Receives, inspects, and labels incoming components. Requests parts quotes as needed for new and existing products. Enters customer orders and schedules SMT, assembly, QC, and shipping to meet customer demands. Establishes and maintains sufficient safety stock for peak business periods, this includes both WIP and raw materials. Schedules and performs cycle counts, making corrections as necessary. Coordinates and completes year-end inventory activities (audits, reports, routing changes, etc.). Manages all mfg. paperwork and INFOR entries (customer orders, purchase order, manufacturing orders, work instructions, etc.). Generates monthly sales and labor summary reports and creates analysis reports as needed. Collaborates with engineering to resolve production/tester issues and establish the proper corrective actions. Implements all new engineering designs into production, setting up new part numbers, BOMs, and routings. Continually plan for the future and improvement of the department. Investigates new production methods, better quality, cost reduction, space, and employee requirements. Manages customer return material authorization (RMAs) and coordinates the repair and return of product. Manages inventory and shipment of Customer Owned Inventory. Performs other duties as requested. Qualifications: Leadership and/or Management Degree and five to eight years of experience or equivalent. Five years of Electronics system manufacturing or comparable business systems experience. Skills and Abilities: Experienced user of IBM AS400/ INFOR System and Microsoft Office. Extreme attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience with production scheduling and component lead times. Excellent personnel interfacing skills. Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume, dynamic environment. Physical Demands Works primarily in a normal office environment. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to stand, walk, and use hands for a portion of the shift.
