Description

Printpack is seeking a qualified Electronics Technician to provide expertise and effective support in keeping the equipment/plant at optimum operating condition. This position will provide electronic/electrical/automation support to the plant and maintain plant equipment and machinery. This position is located in the Grand Prairie, TX Converting plant. This plant is a climate-controlled facility. The candidate must be a team player and be willing to share knowledge. This is a night shift position on 3/2 schedule, 7pm-7am.
Additional $2.50/hr premium for NIGHT shift only between the hours of 7pm-7am. Any hours worked outside of 7pm-7am will not receive the premium.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, upgrade and maintain electrical/electronic equipment used in the manufacturing process
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain electrical systems including PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, motors, relays, circuit breakers, process controls, and industrial communication networks
  • Communicate actions taken to repair the machine to Operator and/or Manager.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, corporate engineering, vendors, and internal customers
  • Demonstrate knowledge of plant and process safety rules, safe operating methods, and good housekeeping standards

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3 – 5 years industrial controls experience
  • Must be able to work any shift
  • Ability to troubleshoot and modify Siemens PLCs
  • Ability to troubleshoot, replace, and modify HMIs and VFDs
  • A working knowledge of communication networks (Ethernet, Profinet, Profibus)
  • Ability to read mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings
  • Basic knowledge and understanding in process control systems such as: temperature control, pressure control, flow control and PID control loops
  • Proficient in Microsoft based computer systems
  • Proficient in computerized maintenance software
  • Physical ability to climb and work at elevations

Preferred Experience:

Ideal candidate will have a nice blend of mechanical and electrical experience with a strong focus on the electrical side

  • Single phase / 3 phase motors
  • Prior Kuka robot experience or other robotics experience
  • Experience working in a food manufacturing environment
  • Experience working on printing press, laminators, or slitters
