Location: Rochester, NY , On-SIte Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am -4:00pm Compensation: $20.00-$27.00 based on experience The Electronic Technician conducts a variety of inspections and tests on electronic systems, assemblies, subassemblies, and parts to ensure every unit functions according to specifications and compliance standards or to troubleshoot product failure. Attention to detail and a focus on quality and collaboration is crucial for success in this position. Role and Responsibilities: Level I Responsibilities: Inspect, Test, and Configure a wide variety of electronic assemblies of varying technology to ensure compliance with IPC-A-610 standards. Perform root cause troubleshooting to the board or major sub-assembly level. Identify, document, and work with the Electronics Manufacturing Engineer to eliminate quality issues discovered. Inspect and Test Cable assemblies to ensure compliance with IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards. Level II: Above Responsibilities, Plus: Perform root cause troubleshooting to the component level. Perform electronic repairs following and meeting IPC J-STD-001. Identify, document, and work with various cross-functional teams to eliminate any quality issues discovered. Suggest new improved processes, workflows, test protocols, etc. to management to improve efficiency and quality and help meet department lean manufacturing objectives. Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent required. 2- or 4-year Degree in Electronics Technology. 2-5 years of prior work experience in related electronics field is required. Strong ability to read and interpret electronic schematics, interconnects, and specification drawings. Ability to effectively use electronic test equipment including, but not limited to, digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and waveform generators. Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal.
