Description
SAIC is seeking a dedicated and proficient Electronics Technician at NSWC Crane, IN to join our dynamic team. The person in this role will be responsible for the hands-on assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of complex electronic systems and components. The ideal candidate must be adept at interpreting technical diagrams, proficient with a range of electronic test equipment, and hold current IPC certifications for soldering and rework. This position requires a high degree of technical skill, attention to detail, and the ability to meticulously follow established procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform electronic assembly, soldering, and rework of printed circuit boards (PCBs) and electronic components in accordance with IPC J-STD-001 and IPC 7711/7721 standards. Read, interpret, and work from complex circuit schematics and wiring diagrams to complete assembly and repair tasks. Diagnose and troubleshoot electronic assemblies and systems down to the component level to identify and resolve faults efficiently. Set up and operate common electrical lab equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and soldering stations for testing and validation. Strictly adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), quality standards, and safety protocols. Maintain accurate records of work performed and document testing results using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) on a Windows platform. Required Qualifications: Certification: Active IPC J-STD-001 (Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies) certification is required. Certification: Active IPC 7711/7721 (Rework, Modification, and Repair of Electronic Assemblies) certification is required. Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electronic circuits to the component level. Technical Proficiency: High proficiency in reading and interpreting circuit schematics and wiring diagrams. Equipment Proficiency: Hands-on experience with multimeters, oscilloscopes, and professional soldering stations. Computer Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the Windows operating environment. Must possess or have the ability to obtain a secret clearance. Preferred Qualifications: A strong mechanical aptitude and experience with the physical assembly of electronic enclosures and systems is highly desirable.
