Description

Precision GeoSurveys is an industry leader of airborne geophysical solutions in western North America and worldwide. Our core business is low-level, high-resolution helicopter surveys in mountainous terrain where modern mineral exploration demands exceed the capability of historical airborne systems.
Due to expanding business activities, we are seeking an Electronics Technologist / Engineer to support our R&D, data acquisition, and geophysical systems in Canada and internationally. This position will be based in Langley, BC, with occasional trips to remote work sites. The ideal candidate will have exceptional electronics, troubleshooting, and organizational skills, and be passionate about developing and deploying proprietary airborne geophysical technology.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Legally able to work in Canada.
  • Fluency in the English language – spoken and written.
  • Degree or diploma in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge and experience in circuit design, PCBs, and MCUs and/or FPGAs.
  • Practical experience in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting electronics including soldering and the use of oscilloscopes and multimeters.
  • Basic programming ability in C/C++ (Python and JavaScript are assets).
  • Some knowledge of electromagnetic theory and digital signal processing an asset.
  • Able to travel to remote sites for extended periods of time on short notice.
  • Comfortable working out of bush camps and around helicopters in harsh conditions.
  • Valid passport with no travel restrictions.
Responsibilities
  • Assemble, test, and troubleshoot airborne geophysical instrumentation (total-field magnetometers, electromagnetic induction coils, gamma-ray spectrometers, digital signal processors, and data loggers).
  • Assist with R&D of new technologies (sensors, hardware, and firmware).
  • Travel to remote work sites in Canada and internationally to perform geophysical data acquisition and system maintenance/troubleshooting.
  • Manage inventories, tracking sheets, and shipping/receiving of geophysical and ancillary equipment.
