ELEMENTARY CLASSROOM TEACHER

Sḵ aadgaa Naay Elementary School
An employment opportunity exists for a TEMPORARY Full-Time (1.0 FTE) Elementary Classroom Teacher effective September 1, 2025 to the full return of the incumbent or no later than June 30, 2026 at Sḵ aadgaa Naay Elementary School.

Requirements:

• A university teaching major, or its equivalent, directly related to the teaching position;
• Understanding and being committed to the calls to action of the Truth and Reconciliation commission, including the eradication of existing and persistent equity gaps for specific groups of children;
• High level of skills related to successful classroom management, and to the development and maintenance of a positive classroom climate;
• Experience with multi-grade classes an asset;
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, instruct and evaluate learning activities for students’ strengths and for their academic, social, emotional and behavioural needs;
• Assume responsibility for the development and execution of Individual Education Plans and Behaviour Support Plans;
• Knowledge of school-based teams;
• Be prepared to provide support in creating inclusive learning environments where students are connected, supported, engaged and challenged;
• Proven interpersonal skills, work ethic and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, education assistants, parents and administrators;
• Understanding of local resources and environment;
• Teacher Regulation Branch certification.

Competitive Salary: $68,529 - $113,321 per annum
Remote and Rural Allowance: $3,035 per annum
Travel Allowance: $1,136 per annum
