Description In a Sentence: The Elementary Coordinator provides leadership for Sunday’s Kids Church & Wednesday’s Kids Clubs elementary programming by partnering with staff, volunteers, and parents to develop a thriving ministry to kids in K-5th grade, helping them to grow as disciples of Jesus. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Programming and Events: Develop and implement biblically solid, age-appropriate, and engaging elementary programs for Sundays and Wednesdays. Plan for and develop gospel-focused ministry environments, including curriculum, teaching, worship, and drama in a welcoming environment that is cohesive, clear, engaging, and safe. Assist in the planning and execution of annual winter camps, Harvest Party, and other family events. Initiate new efforts that support the vision and direction of the church. Maintains and organizes all elementary ministry environments. Prepares classroom materials and sets up individual classrooms for both Kids Church & Kids Club programs. Volunteer Teams: Recruit, equip, and support a committed team of volunteers. Strive to recruit and build leadership teams with age-appropriate child/leader ratios that support building personal connections with each child. Manage the development and scheduling of large group teachers, worship, drama, and tech teams Oversee room management and technical needs for ministry times. Develop partnerships across departments to pursue more effective ministry with children, both in the church and in the community. Ministry Management: Oversee and plan for other assigned ministry needs. Oversee assigned programs, including Junior Teachers, Outreach efforts, etc. Ensure Elementary Children’s budget spending is in alignment with priorities. Discipleship of Kids: Partner with parents in the discipleship of their children. Provide a solid teaching of the Gospel to equip kids with an understanding that can help them grow in their own personal relationship with their Lord and Savior, and also a passion to share the love of Jesus with others. Create a fun and safe environment for kids to feel confident in inviting friends. Requirements Classification Full-Time Non-Exempt (Coordinator) $18 - $20 per hour Reports To: Director of Kids Ministry Time Commitment: 32-40 hours/week including: Monthly events. Weekly participation in EFCC staff meetings. Camps and Staff Retreats Serves on committees as assigned. Regular participation in the life of the body through worship gatherings, etc. Qualifications: Commitment to EFCC’s Statement of Faith, Mission, & Values. BA/BS degree preferred (or in progress) Bilingual preferred Minimum 3 years’ experience working with children Loves Jesus, Loves Kids Passionate about the gospel. Proven ability to build a team of volunteers to shepherd. Willing to further develop skills & expertise in the given area of responsibility through personal study and regular participation in appropriate conferences & seminars.
