BACHELOR’S OR MASTER’S DEGREE IN SPECIAL EDUCATION, ACTIVE SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER LICENSE AND MINIMUM 1+ YEARS SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. APPLICANTS WHO DO NOT MEET THESE QUALIFICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

A position is available for a Special Education Teacher specializing in Early Childhood and Elementary School education. This opportunity involves covering a leave in a mild to moderate self-contained classroom for kindergarten through 2nd grade students. The assignment is located in Warwick, RI, and is structured as a contract role with an immediate start date.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to a caseload of 9 students.
  • Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) utilizing the Aspen system.
  • Collaborate with 2 paraprofessionals to support classroom activities.
  • Follow the school schedule from 8:10 a.m. to 2:55 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a Professional Educators License (PEL).
  • Certification as a Learning Behavior Specialist 1 (LBS1).
  • Experience working within early childhood or elementary special education settings.
  • Ability to manage a self-contained classroom effectively.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 33.5 hours per week, 5 days per week.
  • Duration: 4 weeks with high potential for renewal.
