Scholars of Bedford is seeking passionate and enthusiastic part-time French, English and Math Elementary teachers to join our team. As a teacher at Scholars, you will have the opportunity to positively impact students, both personally and academically. Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Provincial teaching certification preferred.
  • Candidates in Teachers College or University designation are also encouraged to apply.
  • Previous experience working with students is required.
  • Excellent French and English oral and written skills.
  • A passion to help students reach their potential.
  • Exceptionally organized and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to teach groups of up to 3 students in an engaging manner.
  • Ability to use educational manipulatives.
  • Exceptionally organized and high attention to detail.
  • Must be able to teach French, English (Phonics, Reading and Writing), and Math.

Job Duties:

  • Provide individualized instruction to each student, adapting to each student’s learning styles and strengths and weaknesses.
  • Provide accurate reporting regarding student progress, work completion, work habits, behaviour, and attitude.
  • Prepare teaching materials, when applicable.
  • Prepare for each lesson by reviewing the curriculum and student assignments to be worked on each day before classes begin.
  • Attend staff workshops and meetings.
  • Complete administrative and other tasks, when required.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
  • Provincial teaching credentials preferred.

Experience: Minimum one year of teaching experience required

Availability for 3-10 hours per week during our hours of operation:

  • Monday - Thursay: 4:00 - 8:00 pm
  • Saturday: 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
