We are seeking a Middle School Homeroom teacher who is passionate about inquiry-based learning, student well-being, and innovative teaching practices. The ideal candidate will inspire curiosity, create meaningful real-world connections, and cultivate the IB Learner Profile attributes in their classroom.
Responsibilities:
Design and deliver engaging, inquiry- and project-based learning experiences that foster deep conceptual understanding across subject areas.
Use assessment for, as, and of learning to guide instruction, provide feedback, and support growth in alignment with Growing Success (2010) and IB assessment philosophy.
Incorporate backward design when planning units of inquiry and integrate interdisciplinary connections.
Support diverse learning needs by creating inclusive, differentiated learning environments.
Promote social-emotional development, character education, and a strong sense of community within the classroom.
Use technology in purposeful, student-centered ways to enhance learning and assessment.
Collaborate with colleagues to plan, reflect, and build a strong IB culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Preferred: Member of the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) or equivalent teaching certification.
Experience with inquiry-based and project-based learning; familiarity with the IB PYP is an asset.
Strong communication, adaptability, and collaboration skills.
Commitment to professional growth and lifelong learning.
Enthusiasm for helping students develop as caring, balanced, and principled learners.
