ABOUT US:

Toronto Children’s School of the Arts is a vibrant and nurturing Montessori school committed to fostering the intellectual, emotional, and social development of children through authentic Montessori education and core Art programming. Our Elementary program (Grades 1–6) blends Montessori pedagogy with the Ontario curriculum, encouraging curiosity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.
We are seeking a passionate, qualified Lower Elementary Montessori Teacher to join our teaching team. The successful candidate will guide students aged 6–9 in a prepared environment that supports individualized learning, fosters respect for self and others, and inspires exploration across disciplines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Montessori Elementary Diploma from a MACTE-accredited institution (AMI or AMS preferred)
  • Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and current Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification
  • Minimum 2 years teaching experience at the Elementary level, preferably in a Montessori setting
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage students effectively.
  • Proficiency in using technology for educational purposes is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also demonstrating independence when necessary.
  • Strong classroom management skills, patience, and compassion
  • Commitment to anti-bias/anti-racism education and inclusive teaching practices
  • Bilingualism in French and English is an asset
Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging lessons based on Montessori philosophy and the Ontario Elementary Curriculum (Grades 1–3)
  • Observe, assess, and document student progress through portfolios and records
  • Guide students in developing independence, responsibility, and a love of learning
  • Prepare and maintain a beautiful, orderly, and enriched Montessori environment
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to support whole-child development
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with parents and caregivers
  • Participate in professional development and school community events
