This role is ideal for an educator who thinks outside the box, loves working with children, and is excited to build a strong instrumental and vocal program that includes band, small group instruction, and choir. Our ideal candidate uses music, rhythm, and song lyrics to deepen student engagement, support academic concepts, and build a joyful, inclusive classroom culture. Key Responsibilities Design and deliver an engaging K–5 music program grounded in arts integration Provide instrument-focused instruction, including: Beginning band Small group instrumental lessons Instrument exploration and performance opportunities Lead and develop elementary choir experiences and performances Integrate music with core content areas such as literacy, math, and social studies through songs, lyrics, rhythm, and movement Use creative and non-traditional instructional approaches to connect with diverse learners Create performance opportunities that showcase student growth and creativity Differentiate instruction to meet varying skill levels and learning styles Collaborate with classroom teachers to support cross-curricular connections Build a classroom environment that is inclusive, energetic, and student-centered Maintain and manage instruments and music resources Preferred Instructional Approach We are looking for a teacher who: Thinks beyond traditional music instruction models Uses songwriting, lyric analysis, movement, and rhythm to support student learning Connects music to student voice, culture, and real-world experiences Encourages creativity, improvisation, and student composition Brings new ideas for clubs, ensembles, and performance formats Qualifications Valid teaching license in Music Education (or ability to obtain) Experience teaching elementary-aged students preferred Demonstrated experience with instrumental music instruction Experience leading choir or vocal ensembles Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills Ability to design innovative, arts-integrated lessons Commitment to inclusive practices and collaborative teamwork What We Offer A supportive, collaborative school culture Flexibility to innovate and build unique music programming Opportunities to grow instrumental and vocal programs Students eager to explore music through instruments, voice, and creativity Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
