Description Saint Charles Borromeo Academy is seeking a full time Elementary School 1st Grade Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Partnering with parents in their role as primary educators, Saint Charles Borromeo Academy extends the mission of the Church in forming true disciples of Jesus Christ. Through a Catholic Classic Liberal Arts education centered on Christ, we provide an integrated approach fostering a love for truth, beauty, and goodness. We seek to instill a natural desire for wisdom and virtue in all students. Responsibilities - Understand and uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church at all times. - Passionate about supporting The Catholic Liberal Arts tradition at the Academy. - Lead scholars to an understanding and an appreciation of all that is good, beautiful, and true. - Relate to scholars by loving them with the love of Christ, encouraging them to begin and/or develop their own relationship with God through sacraments and scripture, and challenging them to love others. - Be a role model of Christian love, faith, truthfulness and virtue. - Manage the class by setting clear expectations of behavior, establishing reasonable routines, and promoting self-discipline based on Catholic principles. - Teach scholars in a challenging, enthusiastic and age-appropriate manner using the classical model or demonstrate a willingness to be trained in classical education methods. - Work in a collaborative way with the other teachers to develop and implement a Classic Catholic curriculum that enriches the educational experience with a seamless integration of the arts and faith element with history instruction. Requirements - Must be passionate about supporting the Catholic Liberal Arts tradition of the Academy. - The ideal candidate will nurture a positive Catholic culture, through his or her own example and by leading and guiding the religious formation of each scholar. - Practicing Catholic with ethical standards, personal integrity, and conduct consistent with the morals and teachings of the Catholic Church; includes faithful obedience to the Magisterium.
