ELEMENTARY TEACHER AND RESOURCE TEACHING LEAD (1.0 FTE)

Montessori School of Calgary (MSofC) is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and compassionate Elementary Teacher to join our team in a dual role as classroom teacher and Resource Teaching Lead. This is a full-time position within a co-teaching, multi-aged classroom environment, with the added responsibility of supporting differentiated learning across the elementary program.
Founded in 1983, MSofC is a not-for-profit independent school offering authentic Montessori education to children aged 3 to 12, integrating the Montessori and Alberta Education curricula. Our vibrant school community is located in the historic Cliff Bungalow School in downtown Calgary, and is grounded in a commitment to curiosity, care, and inclusion.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
· Association Montessori International (AMI) or other recognized Montessori training is an asset
· Minimum 3–5 years teaching experience, ideally in a Montessori and/or inclusive learning environment
· Experience working with students with learning disabilities (e.g., ADHD, dyslexia, executive functioning challenges)
· Strong understanding of Montessori principles and Alberta Education expectations
· Demonstrated success in adapting instruction to meet diverse learner needs
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills
· Police information check with vulnerable sector verification
· Standard Childcare First Aid & CPR/AED Level B certification an asset

· Team-teach within a multi-aged Montessori elementary classroom
· Provide leadership in coordinating Individualized Program Plans for students with diverse learning needs, including specific learning disabilities and/or exceptionalities
· Collaborate with classroom teachers to design and implement differentiated instruction and targeted interventions
· Conduct formative assessments and monitor student progress to inform programming
· Liaise with parents, external specialists, and Alberta Education as needed
· Support inclusive learning practices rooted in Montessori pedagogy
· Foster a respectful, nurturing, and inclusive classroom culture
· Participate actively in school events and professional learning
