Description This position is for a first-year teacher seeking experience across multiple elementary grade levels. The elementary teacher must communicate effectively through a relational approach, encouraging students to take risks in learning and demonstrate learning in innovative ways. The ability to build partnerships with parents and colleagues is paramount to success in this position. Elementary teachers report to the elementary principal. All faculty members are expected to contribute to chapel and other spiritual development activities and other duties as assigned. Major Responsibilities: Prepare appropriate weekly lesson plans, including instructional objectives, learning activities, and assessments integrated with biblical foundations Utilize appropriate educational technology Maintain appropriate pacing per the curriculum guide Maintain a collaborative relationship with all members of the faculty Demonstrate the maturity to inspire student learning and understanding of the age group Maintain a positive classroom environment conducive to learning yet open to questioning and participation Effectively communicate and partner with parents in the educational and spiritual development of students Support school initiatives and show support for student interests outside of the school day Participate in professional development opportunities as available Requirements Possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree in elementary or early childhood education Possess a Professional Teaching Certificate from the Florida Department of Education Exhibit a strong faith and exemplary lifestyle Must have an understanding of child development and age-appropriate strategies for learning and classroom management Must be able to establish and maintain effective professional relationships Have experience using classroom technology, electronic resources, programs, and platforms Ability to accept direction and professional development Ability to exercise good judgment Background Requirements: Background Check conducted through the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse https://info.flclearinghouse.com This link provides access to the new Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse Education and Awareness Website, as mandated by House Bill 531 (2025) and effective January 1, 2026.
