Job Description:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and dynamic Homeroom Teacher to join our upper elementary teaching team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a range of core subjects including Language, Math, Science, and Social Studies, while integrating Islamic values throughout daily instruction and classroom culture.

This role involves creating a nurturing and intellectually engaging environment that supports the academic, emotional, and spiritual development of all students in your care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver effective lessons aligned with the Ontario Curriculum.
  • Integrate Islamic values and character development into daily teaching and classroom routines.
  • Assess, track, and report on student progress using a variety of formative and summative methods.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learning needs.
  • Establish and maintain clear expectations for student behavior and academic effort.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
  • Collaborate with subject specialists, administrators, and fellow teachers to support student learning and school initiatives.
  • Participate actively in school events, staff meetings, and professional development sessions.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and membership in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT).
  • Minimum 2 years of teaching experience at the elementary level (preferably Grades 3–5).
  • Strong understanding of the Ontario Curriculum and assessment practices.
  • Experience differentiating instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A strong commitment to fostering Islamic character and values in students.
  • Current Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
  • Valid First Aid & CPR certification (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Islamic education.
  • Fluent in French, preferred.
