School Teachers Required ~ Elementary *Please note this position is not in EDMONTON, it is located in a rural community in AB & MB, Candidates must be willing to relocate. Job Summary The Teacher is the educational leader in the classroom, responsible for implementing the school curriculum to maximize student learning. The role includes supervising and evaluating students while upholding the values, policies, and cultural understanding of Cree nation. Teachers must adhere to the Alberta Teacher Quality Standards (TQS) and engage in ongoing supervision and evaluation throughout the school year. Qualifications Bachelor of Education Degree. Valid teaching certificate recognized by Alberta Education & Manitoba Education or be willing to apply for certificate Connection to or willingness to learn the Indigenous Language and Culture. Professional Behavior Teachers must model the intent of our client, make decisions that benefit students and the community. Respecting Cree language, spirituality, and traditions is essential, as is adherence to the professional Code of Conduct and Ethics. Knowledge and Skills Teachers must: Support the mission and values of our client. Address diverse learning styles and adapt curriculum as needed. Implement strategies for academic and social behavior development. Manage individual program plans for students with special needs. Use various assessment methods to monitor and improve teaching effectiveness. Communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and the community. Engage in continuing education and skills upgrading. Primary Responsibilities Teachers are tasked with: Developing and maintaining instructional plans. Incorporating Cree language, culture, and nature awareness into teaching. Supervising educational activities and ensuring safety. Responding appropriately to student illness or injury. Maintaining accurate records for attendance, evaluations, and other required documentation. Using diverse teaching and assessment strategies. Participating in collaborative meetings and leadership roles. Promoting positive behavior, problem-solving, and conflict resolution. Engaging with parents through home visits and establishing rapport. Participating in extracurricular activities and performing additional duties as assigned.
