Description This is a temporary position from March 9 - May 1. General Summary: Coordinate and ensure safe operations of the elevator during high traffic times, such as outages or maintenance projects. Key Responsibilities: Ensure the elevator is operating in a safe manner Report any unusual elevator door or elevator car movements, mechanical problems or trouble with the elevator Contact the control room or security if there are any notable events or injuries Do not allow the elevator to be overloaded to ensure safe operations between floors Emergency operation of the elevator using bypass mechanisms in the event of an emergency Aid in operating the phone and paging system as necessary Light cleaning of the elevator, including door tracks and sensors, to ensure the elevator can operate efficiently Requirements Requirements Job Criteria: Education & Experience: Knowledge typically acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent required. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in plant equipment and process knowledge Knowledge and general understanding of confined space and tagging clearance procedures Must be able to read, refer to specifications and understand directions, schedules and other sources of information, as necessary to correctly provide building maintenance to industry standards. Must be able to operate necessary equipment safely and efficiently in all plant site locations. Must be physically able to perform the essential functions of the job. Effectively communicate using verbal and written communications. Ability to build and maintain effective work relationships, both internal and external, and establish credibility with employees Ability and responsibility to work safely alone and with others while following REC safety rules, certifications and procedures. Ability and responsibility to ensure security procedures are followed including immediate notification of potential incidents. Working conditions will be indoors, sometimes in inclement weather conditions of extreme cold or heat. Must be able to travel to various locations throughout the plant and facility grounds. Conditions in the plant and facility grounds may include extreme temperatures, noise levels, and heights. This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift up to 20-50 lbs. frequently and lifting 51-75 lbs. occasionally. The ability to climb, balance, work at heights and work with arms above your head occasionally up to frequently. Ability to occasionally up to frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, twist and squat, work on even and uneven surfaces and ability to work occasionally in confined space areas. Ability to frequently push, pull, carry, grasp and finger objects. Subject to frequent vibration and hazards and on occasion exposed to fumes, dust or mist. Must be able to differentiate colors, speak and hear.
Responsibilities
