REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK RIGHTS

  • Degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a related field, with a minimum of Certificate IV.
  • Legal right to work and reside in Australia.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience teaching ELICOS programs to international students (minimum 1 year is preferrable), with strong subject knowledge in English grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with cultural sensitivity, patience, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse student needs.
  • Skilled in lesson design, classroom management, and maintaining student engagement and motivation.
  • Familiarity with ELICOS Standards 2018 and the National Code ESOS Act 2000.
  • Proficient in using technology and learning management systems (e.g., aXcelerate) to support teaching and assessment.
  • Able to assess student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.
Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced ELICOS Trainer to join our team and deliver high-quality English language programs to international students. The ideal candidate will have strong subject knowledge in English language teaching, a creative and adaptable teaching style, and the ability to create a positive, culturally inclusive learning environment. This role requires a passion for teaching, compliance with ELICOS Standards, and the ability to inspire students to achieve their learning goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teaching & Student Support: Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons that meet the needs of international students, create a positive and inclusive classroom, and provide academic support tailored to individual needs, following the approved ELICOS curriculum.
  • Assessment & Feedback: Conduct assessments in line with ELICOS Standards and the National Code, provide timely, constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records.
  • Preparation & Resources: Develop engaging, culturally relevant lesson plans and teaching materials aligned with course objectives.
  • Compliance: Adhere to ELICOS Standards, the National Code, and organisational policies, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Continuous Improvement: Engage in professional development, peer observations, and team meetings to enhance teaching practice.
