Description

The Email Marketing Specialist will be responsible for the tactical strategy, execution, and reporting of outbound email and text marketing campaigns. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, self‐starting, direct-to-consumer-focused marketer who has a passion for using email & SMS to create meaningful 1:1 consumer experiences, individually and at scale. You are naturally thorough and have a high attention to detail. You thrive in fast-paced environments with entrepreneurial DNA, and you’re comfortable charting new territory. You aren’t afraid to run with ideas and understand Batteries Plus’s consumers and how to serve them with content that helps drive education, interest, loyalty, and conversion.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3+ years of experience in email marketing
  • Must be able to use productivity tools like Asana
  • Self-directed with the ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Well organized with a strong attention to detail and accuracy. Able to meet deadlines with multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS for email
  • Basic knowledge of responsive code optimized for email
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrated communication skills
  • Effectively problem solve in individual and in group settings
  • Team player who is comfortable with self-direction

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute CRM channel communications, with a focus on the CRM campaign calendar, including email & text marketing.
  • Perform day-to-day CRM marketing activities including, but not limited to, email and text campaign set-up, scheduling, testing, tagging, and deployment of one-time, recurring, triggered, and dynamic content-driven campaigns.
  • Understand the consumer audience, owning segment creation, management, and data troubleshooting
  • Monitor & document KPI’s against set baselines for Open Rate, Click-to-Open Rate, Conversion, and Unsubscribes
  • Identify and execute A/B testing opportunities for email and text marketing
  • Present to peers and leadership on email & SMS performance
  • Maximize proven technical skills and success in cross-collaboration to translate the needs of the business and take action
  • Proficiency with at least one ESP-specific scripting language (i.e., liquid scripting, AMPscript, etc.)
  • Integrate email content into email platform(s) for campaign deployment, including CAN-SPAM requirements
  • Stay on top of TCPA requirements
  • Consult and troubleshoot on HTML/text mailings, dynamic content personalization, and URL issues
  • Conduct content quality assurance checks to ensure the mailing meets expectations
  • Work closely with the E-commerce, Marketing, IT, and Creative teams
