Why you will love this opportunity as an Email Marketing Specialist at Civica The Email Marketing Specialist is a hands-on execution role within the Growth Marketing function, responsible for building, configuring, and deploying email communications across campaigns, lifecycle programmes, brand activity, and other business-initiated sends. The postholder works closely with the Senior Lifecycle Marketing Manager to translate lifecycle programme requirements into email touchpoints, and acts as the primary point of contact for email build requests from campaign, brand, and other teams across the business. This is an operational role at the centre of Civica's email production workflow: setting up emails correctly in the marketing automation platform, ensuring quality and compliance standards are met before every send, tracking and reporting on performance, and advising colleagues on email best practice. The role requires technical accuracy, strong attention to detail, and a practical understanding of what makes email communications effective in a B2B environment. As an Email Marketing Professional, you will be responsible for building and configuring email campaigns across lifecycle touchpoints, events, nurture sequences, and ad hoc requests, ensuring each is tested and approved before deployment. You’ll interpret briefs with the Senior Lifecycle Marketing Manager, manage the production queue, and act as the operational contact for email builds. Your role includes conducting thorough pre-send quality checks, monitoring performance metrics, maintaining list hygiene, and advising stakeholders on best practices. Additionally, you’ll support the transition of Civica’s marketing automation platform, documenting workflows and rebuilding templates while maintaining business-as-usual activity. Apply if you have ; Proven hands-on experience building and deploying emails in a marketing automation platform (Eloqua and others such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud or Hubspot), with the ability to configure templates, set up automation triggers, manage dynamic content, and conduct pre-send quality assurance independently. Technical adaptability across marketing automation platforms, with working experience in at least one enterprise-grade system and a demonstrated ability to develop proficiency in new tooling environments as platforms evolve. Strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to quality assurance, with the ability to catch errors at the build stage before they reach a send, and a track record of accurate, reliable email production at volume. Practical understanding of email deliverability, list management, and consent compliance in a B2B context, including suppression handling, opt-out processing, and the operational implications of applicable data protection requirements. Clear and confident communication with internal stakeholders, able to interpret briefs, manage expectations on timelines, advise on best practice, and push back constructively where a request does not meet quality or compliance standards. Comfort working across multiple concurrent requests from different teams, with the ability to prioritise the production queue effectively, communicate capacity constraints early, and deliver consistently against agreed timelines. Analytical enough to read and interpret email performance data, identify what is and is not working, and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations for the Senior Lifecycle Marketing Manager and requesting teams.
