Apple's System Firmware and Diagnostics team is looking for an enthusiastic embedded firmware engineer to join our team. This is an individual contributor role to design, develop and debug firmware used in the manufacturing and testing process of some of our popular products. You’ll have the opportunity to work with leading experts to integrate core technologies and algorithms into system firmware deployed onto our factory lines. DESCRIPTION In this role, you will architect and implement the manufacturing systems firmware for the complex embedded devices that form the backbone of groundbreaking Apple products. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS BS/CS/EE/CE or relevant work experience 5+ years of relevant industry experience Proficiency in C/C++ programming Background in embedded firmware development in multi-threaded systems Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both peer and management audiences PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Proficiency in interpreting and navigating schematics and layouts Working knowledge of standard hardware protocols (USB, UART, SPI, I2C, PCIe, MIPI, PCM) Hands-on experience in using debugging tools such as gdb, lldb, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers Well-versed in board bring-up and new product development
