JOB OVERVIEW/DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Embedded Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and passion in the design, development, testing, debugging and ability to implement embedded software and systems using C/C++, Embedded C and other languages. It requires an understanding of common communication interfaces such as USB, Ethernet and UART. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently, as well as being able to collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement software solutions that meet the needs of our clients and enhance our product offerings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
  • 3-6 years of related work experience
  • Available to work in office at the EWR facility in Kirkwood, MO. No remote options at this time
  • Must be authorized to work in the US
  • Strong communication skills, organizational skills and time management skills
  • The ability to identify needed actions and the ability to act to resolve issues with minimal oversight.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • C / C++
  • Qt
  • Pythin
  • Experience developing in Linux
  • GNU Make, CMake or other build tools
  • Subversion, Git or other version control systems
  • Knowledge of machine control software design and development for radars is a plus
  • Knowledge and working experience with Embedded Linux or with other embedded operating systems in a plus
  • Knowledge of wireless and wired communication (CAN, Ethernet, GPS) protocols is a plus

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and test products for weather radars.
  • Develop documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
  • Operate software development tools, technical and other equipment to perform engineering tasks.
  • Utilize version control, simulation, debugging and other development tools.
  • Provide support to production by designing and developing devices for production line programming, production line testing system, test instructions, etc.
  • Help with embedded hardware design and development for new products.
  • Provide communication protocol documents for new products.
