Job Description Roles & Responsibilities : Core Firmware Development: Design, implement, and maintain highly optimized, production-grade firmware for ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers in both bare-metal and lightweight RTOS environments. AMI & Protocol Integration: Own and mature the communication firmware (NIC/meter-side) using DLMS/COSEM, ensuring seamless alignment with Indian smart metering standards (IS 15959 Part 2 and Standard Bid Documents / SBD). Low-Level Peripheral Management: Configure and optimize micro-architectural components including UART, SPI, I涎, GPIO, DMA, internal/external Flash, hardware security/keys, and Over-the-Air Programming (OTAP) mechanics. Technical Leadership & OEM Collaboration: Lead architectural discussions, write clean design notes, and act as a trusted technical liaison with meter OEM software leads and senior stakeholders. Engineering Excellence: Drive robust SDLC practices by owning non-trivial codebases across multiple release cycles, enforcing strict code reviews, and contributing proactively to continuous integration workflows. Qualifications Educational qualification: B.E/B.Tech Experience :4-6 Mandatory/requires Skills : Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electronics & Communication, or a related engineering discipline. Core Experience: 4 – 6 years of hands-on embedded software engineering experience, with a proven track record of shipping firmware or NIC/communication-side firmware in commercial AMI products. Expert Programming: Mastery of C programming tailored for ARM Cortex-M class MCUs. SDLC Discipline: Deep familiarity with modern software development lifecycles, including Git version control, JIRA, IBM ALM, CI/CD pipelines, build systems (CMake / Make), Docker, WSL, unit/integration testing, and structured release management. Wireless Mesh Protocols: Hands-on experience with low-power wireless stacks or mesh networking topologies such as Wirepas, Wi-SUN, Zigbee etc. Cellular IoT: Hands-on experience with integrating Cellular / NB-IoT modems using AT-command structures in constrained IoT environments. Automation: Proficiency in Python scripting for internal tooling, automated testing, and log analysis. Industry Background: Prior experience as a Firmware developer at an Indian smart meter OEM, or as a firmware integrator bridging meter OEMs and NIC/module vendors.
