Description
Space assets and services are not fully monetized. At Revolv Space, we are solving the problem of low duty cycles by developing and manufacturing the next generation of critical subsystems enabling continuous spacecraft operations and therefore full monetization of space assets. We start with tackling the power limitations of small satellites by providing a fail-safe and autonomous Solar Array Drive Assembly for small satellites. To achieve this mission, we are on the lookout for an autonomous Embedded Systems Architect at Revolv Space. In this role, you won't just build electronics; you will own the architectural integrity of our embedded systems from initial concept through to flight qualification. As a core member of our Embedded Systems team, you will exercise systems-level thinking to ensure harmony between hardware, firmware, and mechanical constraints. You’ll be joining a fast-paced startup environment where your decisions directly dictate the performance and reliability of technology headed for orbit. Location: Turin, Italy Working language: English Starting date: June-July 2026 Your mission: Coordinate design, prototyping, and flight qualification of electronics for space systems, as well as software development for said electronics; developing and conducting tests for design validation and flight qualification; planning and execution of engineering and qualification tests of the electronic systems of our products; formulation and verification of engineering concepts; active contribution in the preparation of the production processes; demonstrate strong systems-level thinking, by evaluating and communicating the impact of design decisions across hardware, firmware, and overall system performance; collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including software, mechanical, test, and systems engineering. What you bring: electronics, embedded software, automation, robotics, or similar engineering background; 5-12 years of demonstrated professional experience in autonomous design of electronics (experience in design of space equipment/scientific measurement apparatus particularly welcome); ability to analyze and articulate the system-level impact of design choices; although not mandatory, experience in the space industry is highly appreciated; demonstrated basic skills in microcontroller programming for prototyping purposes; good knowledge of physics in the context of space engineering (effects of radiation, vacuum and thermal stresses on electronic systems); good knowledge of space industry standards, in particular those referring to design, assembly, integration and testing of electronic systems; strong interpersonal skills with a desire to collaborate and contribute to team success; ability to work independently; fluent use of English. What we offer: RAL between EUR 45.000-65.000, according to both real experience and proficiency in the role goal-oriented environment with flexible working hours; possibility of occasional remote work; international team driven by passion and commitment; company activities and retreats; meal vouchers (Buoni pasto); hands-on experience with the design, manufacturing, and testing of space-grade systems; direct impact on a NewSpace startup in the heart of Europe’s high-tech hub possibility of participation in the early-employee equity scheme. About the hiring process: 15-min screening call with Gaia (HR Manager) 60-min in-depth technical interview with the engineering team, including CTO 45-min behavioural interview with Marco (CEO), HR and the founding team Welcome onboard! The main language of the hiring process is English. We might ask you for an in-person meeting. Studies have shown that women and people from unprivileged backgrounds are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification. At Revolv Space, we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
Responsibilities
The role involves coordinating the design, prototyping, and flight qualification of electronics for space systems, including software development and rigorous testing for design validation. Key duties include formulating and verifying engineering concepts and actively contributing to production process preparation.
