Rooted in BHG Catering, Ember is a sub-brand specialising in event production within a culinary setting and high-end dining experiences for the public weekly. On our rooftop in Kreuzberg, we host approximately 50 guests around a long table to celebrate a family-style sharing menu.
We collaborate with brands, agencies, and companies to create unique dining experiences in special venues, such as our rooftop in Kreuzberg. Upon request, we also provide off-site catering and event productions.
That being said, we are a dynamic and ever-evolving company with a young, committed team.
REQUIREMENTS
We are looking for an experienced and capable Sous Chef to join and lead our open-fire kitchen team at Ember. Our restaurant specialises in exclusive private dinners and guest services, requiring strong leadership, organisation, and creativity to maintain our high standards.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for leading the team during service, overseeing prep, and ensuring every dish meets our quality standards. You’ll also handle key administrative tasks, including scheduling, ordering, and managing inventory. As a Sous Chef, you’ll work closely with the Head Chef to maintain an efficient and cohesive kitchen, while actively participating in cooking and service.
Experience in a similar role is essential, and prior work with open-fire cooking is a big plus. This position demands someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, leads by example, and fosters a positive and professional kitchen atmosphere.
