Introduction Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi is a private not-for-profit teaching hospital that provides tertiary and secondary level healthcare services. Under The Aga Khan University Hospital is an Outreach Division, which is a rapidly growing network of more than 50 medical centers spread over East Africa. These medical centers feature three to five consulting rooms with a practice that is home to specialists, qualified medical officers, highly experienced nurses and constant reception cover. The clinics offer an on-site pharmacy and laboratory as well as imaging services. There is high expectation for staff to provide high quality professional services Applications are invited from qualified candidates for the above position based in Nairobi Kenya. The position holder will report to the Finance Coordinator, Payables in the Finance Division. Responsibilities: Perform all embryology-related procedures including oocyte retrieval, insemination (IVF/ICSI), embryo culture, embryo transfer preparation, and cryopreservation. Maintain accurate records of all procedures. Assess and grade embryos for transfer and freezing. Maintain strict adherence to laboratory quality assurance and control standards. Ensure all lab equipment is calibrated, cleaned, and maintained. Monitor laboratory environment for temperature, humidity, and gas concentrations. Maintain the IVF lab quality and service time to time. Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, ensuring traceability of all gametes and embryos. Prepare reports as required. Follow all ethical, professional, and safety standards governing assisted reproduction. Ensure patient confidentiality and informed consent. Participate in training, audits, and quality improvement initiatives. Stay updated on new techniques and technologies in reproductive science. Also, update the department on new techniques and training programs. Work closely with clinicians, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure coordinated patient care and effective communication. Requirements: Master’s degree in clinical Embryology or Reproductive Science Bachelor’s degree in biomedical science / Zoology or equivalent. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a fertility clinic or fully trained in an IVF laboratory performing embryology procedures (OPU, IVF, ICSI, Embryo / Oocyte grading, Embryo transfer, Cryopreservation, Thawing). Experience with laboratory quality management systems and documentation Familiar with working with all types of IVF equipment. Familiarity with current regulations and ethical standards in assisted reproduction
