What you’ll do: As a Senior Statutory Accountant you will assist the Portfolio Manager in ensuring its many & varied obligations are met, driving to improve & standardize Country accounting processes (both corporate and business operations). The role provides financial leadership on statutory accounting/audits, corporation income tax and indirect tax accounting for the countries. You will support end to end process improvements projects, working with other process stakeholders to improve process efficiency, effectiveness and internal control and is a proactive business partner to Operations, enabling the Operations Finance team to focus on business issues. You will closely operate with various Corporate Departments (Tax, Treasury, Accounting, Legal, others), Global Financial Accounting teams, the International Shared Service Centers (ISSC), and Operating divisions in Country. Prepare workbooks & GAAP to Stat directed by EMEA statutory portfolio manager. Create the Thomson Reuters (TR) templates and manage the annual creation of financial statements using TR. Support the data gathering for US and Statutory audit of a portfolio of entities. Create standardized tax packs and provide support and response to tax queries. Support process improvement & other projects as requested. Support audit centralization initiatives & rationalization projects. Preparation of SOP & process documentation and ensuring it remains updated. Maintain strong relationship with EY and other third party auditors. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting, master's is an advantage. Relevant work experience working in Statutory and Audit area. Excellent working knowledge of English and other European language is an advantage. Experience of best practice implementation/end to end process improvement in accounting & reporting. Knowledge of US GAAP and/or other statutory reporting requirements is preferred; exposure to Sarbanes Oxley. Experience in SAP/Oracle is an advantage. Sound practical knowledge of corporate income tax/indirect taxes (FAS 109) is an advantage.
