Description
The EMEA Statutory and Tax Centre of Expertise (COE) covers all statutory and audit activities, tax relating to statutory activities, technical accounting and other statutory reporting. It was set up in June 2023. The COE covers all EMEA businesses (currently 5 zones, 50 countries). The role of the EMEA Statutory Lead Accountant is to take a lead role in supporting the EMEA Statutory Portfolio Manager on their portfolio of entities to deliver statutory and audit. This role will take primary responsibility and ownership of a number of entities. The role interacts with many stakeholders including corporate technical accounting, tax, zone controllers, business leaders, and EY and other third party auditors. In this role you will support the EMEA Statutory Portfolio Manager on their portfolio of entities to deliver statutory and audit, also: Prepare workbooks & GAAP to Stat for review with Statutory Portfolio Manager. Use Thomson Reuters (TR) for annual creation of financial statements. Coordinate and manage data gathering for US and Statutory audit of a portfolio of entities. Create standardized tax packs and provide support and response to tax queries. Support process improvement & other projects as requested. Support audit centralization initiatives & rationalization projects. Preparation of SOP & process documentation and ensuring it remains updated. Maintain strong relationship with EY and other third party auditors. University degree in Finance & Accounting. Extensive working experience in Statutory and Audit area. Excellent English language skill (other European languages are helpful) with strong communication skills (written and verbal). Strong system knowledge (Oracle/SAP). Professional (or being part qualified) accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, etc.) is advantage. Knowledgeable managing a portfolio of legal entities in multinational company is preferred. Experience working with 3rd party auditors across regions and countries is preferred. Change management and process improvement mindset. Proactive and enthusiastic personality with strong influencing skill
