EMEA VAT Manager The EMEA VAT Manager will be responsible for the coordination of all VAT reporting and compliance matters for the ASP EMEA region. The main focus of this position is leading all tax matters related to VAT, including compliance with tax regulations in all EMEA countries where ASP operates. This position will report to the Global Tax Director based in the United States and work closely with ASP’s EMEA Finance team based in Eindhoven, Netherlands. This is a remote role with limited travel to ASP’s office in Eindhoven. Responsibilities: Establish, monitor, and maintain VAT and related compliance (e.g. sales listings & Statistical reporting/Intrastat) across the business; Review VAT tax returns and lead successful completion and submission of returns by the outsourced compliance provider; Validate processes and transactions for accurate VAT accounting / treatment; Ensure compliance with local rules and regulations including system and process updates to meet the ongoing VAT digitalization and e-invoicing agenda around the region; Handle information requests from tax authorities and handle tax audits; Answer daily ad-hoc VAT issues; Research VAT issues and keep the team updated on legislative changes as they relate ASP’s business; Assist in maintaining and improving/upgrading VAT processing capabilities within our SAP environment and tax determination engine; Coordinate the work of our tax advisors; Develop and improve processes around VAT and related compliance; Build value through the implementation of VAT planning and saving opportunities; Provide limited assistance with EMEA’s income tax processes. Qualifications: 5-7 years of relevant work experience in performing and handling VAT compliance; Ability to identify areas of risk, carry out an effective review and know when to refer upwards; Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; Curious learner with continuous improvement attitude; High degree of attention to detail and ability to multitask and prioritize; Strong sense of ownership and accountability; Strong MS Excel skills; Experience with ERP and tax systems; Fluent in English. Desirable: Advanced degree in taxation, business, or law; Certification, such as Chartered accountant; SAP and ONESOURCE experience; Experienced in VAT systems design and implementation; Prior experience managing outsourced VAT compliance.
