Position Purpose: The EMEA VAT Manager will play a key role in overseeing VAT provision preparation, and managing VAT compliance across multiple jurisdictions in Europe, Middle East and Africa (“EMEA”), and ensuring adherence to all applicable VAT laws and regulations. Responsibilities Responsible for the VAT compliance for a number of European entities: UK VAT compliance - Undertaking the monthly invoice review - Reviewing the partial exemption calculation including trade counts - Preparing monthly VAT calculations - Booking monthly VAT journals into oracle - Maintenance of the VAT ledger and signing-off monthly VAT balance sheet - Preparing and submitting the quarterly VAT return - Preparation and submission of Capital Goods Scheme adjustments - Preparation and submission of Annual Adjustment adjustments - Preparing the monthly VAT calculation for subsidiary UK entities - Preparing the quarterly VAT return for subsidiary UK entities Non-UK VAT compliance - Preparing monthly VAT calculations for non-UK VAT returns (Poland, Cyprus and Ireland) - Co-ordinate with external advisers with the preparation of non-UK VAT returns (Poland, Cyprus, and Ireland) - Preparing monthly VAT and submitting VAT returns for any new legal entities created VAT process improvement - Writing VAT process documentation - Improve VAT environment through process enhancement VAT ad hoc tasks - Supporting VAT queries raised in external audit and from tax authorities - Obtaining new VAT registrations with support from external advisers - Researching/advising on VAT planning opportunities - Reviewing applicability of a VAT Group registration - VAT advice in connection with commercial transactions and group re-organisations - Maintenance of VAT calendar Qualifications Qualifications: Education: - Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting, CPA, CMA, or tax qualification Experience: - Minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience in a public accounting firm and/or commercial environment - Exposure to monthly VAT provision preparation and multi-jurisdictional VAT compliance - Financial services company experience Technology: - Excellent excel skills (vlookup, xlookup, sumifs, index match, concat, textjoin) - Familiarity with using oracle Other Relevant Skills: - Excellent communication and client-servicing skills - Ability to build rapport with colleagues in tax and across various teams and business units - Adept at prioritizing tasks and maintaining productivity in high-pressure situations - Good problem solving - Excellent attention to detail - Ability to handle and manipulate complex data sets - Ability to work independently and in a stand-alone role - Ability to be in London for 3 – 6 months for an initial training period Working environment: Hybrid (4 days a week in the office) Why Join StoneX Inc.?
