To strength the EMEA Indirect Tax Department and accommodate the further roll-out of the strategic plan, we are looking for a EMEA VAT Supervisor based in the Global Business Center in Wroclaw (Poland). The role will report to EMEA VAT Manager. As a EMEA VAT Supervisor, you will become part of a professional, enthusiastic and driven tax team. You will support the maintenance and enhancement of VAT logic across various billing and purchasing systems, ensuring accurate VAT determination and compliance. The role also contributes to VAT-related projects and process improvements across the organization, with a focus on supporting VAT processes within the EMEA region. Key Responsibilities Provide Expert Support: Define and maintain VAT logic rules for billing and purchasing systems, ensuring they reflect current regulatory requirements and business practices. Investigate VAT issues independently across multiple systems and processes. Analyze VAT flows and identify inconsistencies or improvement opportunities. Stay informed on VAT regulations and assess their impact on system configurations. Project Management: Support VAT-related projects, including system upgrades, regulatory changes, and automation initiatives. Collaborate with IT, tax, and finance teams to ensure correct VAT setup and reporting. Propose and implement creative solutions to enhance VAT accuracy and efficiency. Document VAT logic and changes for internal stakeholders and audit purposes. Client & Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, business stakeholders, and other tax professionals. Prepare and provide technical support and VAT training to other business partners. Qualifications: Education: master’s degree in economics, finance, taxes, accounting Experience: 5-10 years of work experience in the VAT consultancy department of a Big4 company. Skills: Basic understanding of VAT principles (EU VAT Directive familiarity is a plus). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to connect dots across processes. Detail-oriented with a structured approach to investigation and documentation. Self-driven and resourceful; able to work independently. Creative mindset focused on continuous improvement and solution-oriented thinking. Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration. Language: fluent in English (verbal and writing), any other language is an asset. At least six months employment track at current position in UPS (for internal candidates only). Desirable: Exposure to indirect tax, finance systems, or VAT compliance. Experience supporting system implementations or tax automation projects. Understanding of VAT reporting requirements and compliance obligations across multiple jurisdictions. Experience working with cross-functional teams (e.g., tax, IT, procurement, sales) in a multinational environment. Ability to interpret and apply VAT rules in system logic and transactional flows. Experience with documentation and testing of VAT logic during system changes or upgrades.
