ABOUT THE ROLE

Emergency Communications Officers (Triple Zero Call-takers) receive and process all emergency and non-emergency triple zero calls from the public and other emergency service agencies.
There really is no average day as an Emergency Communications Officer - every day is different and rewarding in equal amounts. You could be helping someone in their worst moment, and they will rely on you for your composure and ability to guide them through the call. You will be well supported from your first day with us, with fully paid comprehensive training, before you then start talking real triple zero calls with your teammates, with team leaders on hand to support, guide and help whatever the circumstances.
We have several roster options available depending upon your preferred location. These options allow employees flexibility and balance to meet their individual circumstances and work preferences, and include: full-time rotating roster, full-time set roster and part-time set roster.
For further details about this rewarding career opportunity and working arrangements, please visit our Emergency Communications Officer careers page. An Applicant Information Kit is also available here.
You can find out more about triple zero calls and the people behind them by listening to our ‘I AM 000’ podcast. The podcast gives rare access to real-life Triple Zero (000) calls. You will hear from the callers, patients, Triple Zero operators and emergency services, sharing their stories and experiences from each case.

You will be delivering a critical service to the Victorian community and belong to a connected and highly supportive and caring team, united by a common purpose. You will be rewarded with a competitive salary and other benefits including:

  • Fully paid training from day one, with a Certificate III in Public Safety (Emergency Communications Centre Operations) being awarded upon after consolidation
  • Clearly defined career progression, support and upskilling
  • Attractive pay and conditions including 5 weeks annual leave per year
  • Paid 30-minute break every 90 minutes through your shift
  • Employee assistance program for employees and eligible family members
  • Discounted health insurance, banking services and family gym membership
  • Access to on-site gyms at all our sites
  • ‘Memberlink’ discount card, accepted by 1,000’s of retailers and services providers
