Responsibilities Collaborate with RNs and the interdisciplinary care team to support individualized plans of care and optimize patient outcomes Accurately obtain, monitor, and document vital signs and clinical data in the electronic medical record (EMR) Deliver non-invasive clinical and clerical support within the Emergency Department under RN and physician direction Perform EKGs, assist with patient transport, and support activities of daily living while ensuring patient comfort and dignity Prepare, maintain, and ensure proper functioning of clinical equipment and treatment areas Maintain precise, timely documentation in the electronic health record in accordance with regulatory standards Promote a safe, clean, and compliant care environment following infection prevention and safety protocols Effective clinical communication and strong interdisciplinary teamwork Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with sound judgment High attention to detail with strong clinical documentation practices Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care, safety, and service excellence Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED Experience: At least one year of clinical experience - Preferred License(s)/Certification(s): Required (Upon Hire or Preferred): Emergency Medical Technician – Basic (EMT-B) certification Accepted from: Iowa Department of Public Health (IADPH), Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), or Wisconsin Department of Health Services (WI DHS) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) (preferred upon hire; required within 30 days) Required Within 90 Days of Hire: Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training Mandatory Reporter Training (as applicable to state of practice): Child Abuse Reporting (IA and/or IL) Dependent Adult Abuse Reporting (IA and/or IL)
