JOB SUMMARY
The University of Michigan, Division of Public Safety and Security (DPSS) Emergency Management team serves the community by preparing for, protecting against, and responding to a broad range of emergencies that could impact our people, operations, and environment. Reporting to the Emergency Management Associate Director and ultimately, the Emergency Management Director, you will help support and coordinate a comprehensive all-hazards approach within the University of Michigan’s 19 schools and colleges, divisions, business and service units, independent centers, institutes, and auxiliary operations, which include Athletics, Student Life, and Michigan Medicine. You will maintain internal and external strategic partnerships and engage with faculty, staff, the community, state, and federal partners to further enhance our protection, prevention, and preparedness efforts.
You will be physically located at our Ann Arbor campus.

The Division of Public Safety and Security (DPSS) leads all public safety functions within the university, including police, security, and emergency management, and offers an integrated approach to safety and security, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. DPSS combines Ann Arbor, Dearborn, and Flint operations to provide students, visitors, faculty, and staff with a safe and secure environment. Through our partnerships across the university and local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, we use a blended service model to meet the needs of our community and exceed expectations.
