JOB DESCRIPTION
Union County Public Safety is currently accepting applications for the position of Operations and Training Officer. This position is a 40-hour work week and requires on-call 24/7 for emergency response.
Knowledge in developing comprehensive plans, compliance with local, state and Federal rules, regulations and standards of Hazardous Materials, coordination of training and exercises, grants, understanding of incident command (ICS/NIMS) and emergency management is preferred. Must be willing to possess and maintain certifications. Responds to emergencies and/or disaster situations which could involve hazardous materials, a pandemic, and inclement weather and other incidents of critical significance.
Applicants must be customer service-orientated, work with various agencies and the public and have the ability to multitask and handle high-level stress during an emergency. Prepare various forms, reports, and documentation. Assist with the development of policies, procedures and guidelines and conduct and/or schedule various training within the County. Utilization of various office equipment and emergency response equipment, as needed. The applicant must possess computer skills and utilize various computer programs, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
