The role of Emergency management Support Officer (EMSO) is essential for the support to our regional staff and schools with prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery. The position is required to provide strategic advice on risk assessment and mitigation across the region and to facilitate a consistent and professional approach across the region. The position is also required to promote and maintain strong relationships with other regional staff, Departmental central staff and government schools in the region.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
No Qualifications required, Extensive knowledge of emergency management is desirable. The successful applicant will be required to provide a current Working with Children Check.
ONGOING ROLE BEGINS FROM 19/12/2025
The purpose of this role is to provide regional support in operations and emergency management. The role reports to the Manager of the Operations and Emergency Management Branch, within the Regional Operations in each region. The branch is comprised of the Emergency Management Support Officer, OHS and Facilities Support Officers and regional administration. The branch is responsible for internal facilities management and administrative services to the region; and advice to government schools on emergency management and planning, facilities and occupational health and safety (OHS) matters. The position is required to provide strategic advice on risk assessment and mitigation across the region and to facilitate a consistent and professional approach across the region. The position is also required to promote and maintain strong relationships with other regional staff, Departmental central staff and government schools in the region.
