JOB OVERVIEW

As an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), you will play a critical role in providing emergency medical care to patients in various settings, including pre-hospital environments and during transport to healthcare facilities. Your expertise in patient assessment, airway management, and emergency medicine will be essential in delivering high-quality care during critical situations. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for patients experiencing medical emergencies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous EMT experience is required; critical care experience is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with emergency room procedures and urgent care settings is preferred.
  • Knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology is essential for effective patient care.
  • Experience administering injections and performing venipuncture is a plus.
  • Strong skills in patient assessment and vital signs monitoring are necessary for this role.
  • Ability to drive emergency vehicles safely under various conditions is required.
  • Must be capable of lifting heavy objects as part of job responsibilities.
  • A valid EMT certification and any additional certifications related to emergency medicine are required. This position requires a dedicated individual who thrives in high-pressure environments and is committed to making a difference in the lives of patients during their most critical moments.

Responsibilities
  • Provide immediate medical attention and support to patients in emergency situations.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine the severity of conditions and required interventions.
  • Administer basic life support and advanced life support as necessary, including airway management and medication administration.
  • Perform triage to prioritize patient care based on the urgency of their conditions.
  • Assist with critical care transport, ensuring patient safety during transit.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities and medical histories.
  • Collaborate with hospital staff, including those in Level I and Level II trauma centers, to facilitate seamless patient transfers.
  • Utilize medical terminology effectively when communicating with healthcare teams.
  • Carry out physical examinations and vital signs monitoring as part of routine assessments.
  • Apply aseptic techniques during procedures to minimize infection risks.
  • Handle durable medical equipment (DME) appropriately for patient needs.
  • Engage in heavy lifting when necessary to assist patients or transport equipment.
