Position #: 9000722 Union: HSAS Facility: St. Joseph's Health Facility - SHA City/Town: Macklin Department: Ambulance - Land Type: Casual FTE: 0 Shift Information: Days, Nights, Evenings, Weekends, Standby Relief: No Float: No Field Hours: No Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Emergency Medical Technician $29.909 to $36.572 Travel Required: No Job Description: Reporting to the Manager or designate for the area of province they are working, the Emergency Medial Services - EMT/PCP responds to emergency and non-emergency events, and provides assessment, treatment and transportation of the ill or injured persons consistent with The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice protocols; The Paramedics Act and bylaws; and Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) policies, procedures and work standards. Human Resources Exemption: No Education Primary Care Paramedic diploma (PCP) Licenses Valid Class 4 driver's license Other Education and Training International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS) Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS) Current CPR certification Competencies Basic - Interpersonal skills Verbal communication skills Written Communication Skills Listening skills Knowledge and Abilities Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office programs (Word/Excel/Outlook) Conflict resolution skills to effectively handle difficult issues Able to safely and consistently lift/load stretcher on a regular basis Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking Physically able to perform the duties of pre-hospital emergency care Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely and effectively Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and to adapt to changing conditions Ability to be resilient Ability to function effectively in high stress and in emergency situations Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System.
