The brief program is a 24 bed unit which provides a safe place to stay for a short period of time. It allows time to rest and recover from the effects of intoxication or drug abuse. The social detox area has 25 beds and clients can stay up to 14 days in order to withdraw from substances and begin to learn about recovery. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement" Human Resources Exemption: No Experience * Candidates with experience in Mental Health & Addictions will be given priority. Education * Primary Care Paramedic diploma (PCP) * Candidates must have completed a Canadian Medical Association accredited program, and is currently licensed or eligible for licensure with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics. Competencies * Advanced - Technical skills * Advanced - High level interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and colleagues Knowledge and Abilities Successful candidates will have a high level of technical skills and knowledge as a Primary Care Paramedic. The ability to de-escalate, assess and engage clients that present with addiction and mental health concerns.  Paramedics will be responsible for medication management at Addiction Treatment Centre within your scope of practice. Strong client focused interpersonal skills, ability to respond and function appropriately during stressful and emergent situations, ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. You will be required to work collaboratively as part of a team assessing and providing medical care to the clients in the brief and social detox program.
