Position #: 164015 Union: HSAS Facility: Eston Health Centre City/Town: Eston Department: Ambulance - Land Type: Part-time regular FTE: 0.75 Shift Information: Days, Nights, Evenings, Weekends, Standby Hours of Work: 168 hours per 6 weeks Relief: No Float: No Field Hours: No Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Emergency Medical Technician $29.909 to $36.572 Travel Required: No Job Description: Reporting to the Manager or designate for the area of province they are working, the Emergency Medical Services - EMT/PCP responds to emergency and non-emergency events. and provides assessment, treatment and transportation of the ill or injured persons consistent with The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and bylaws; and Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) policies, procedures and work standards. Human Resources Exemption: No Education Primary Care Paramedic Certificate from an approved educational institute Licenses Valid Class 4 driver's license Other Education and Training Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR) Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS) Competencies Written Communication Skills Interpersonal skills Conflict resolution skills Basic - Computer skills Listening skills Verbal communication skills Knowledge and Abilities Demonstrated ability to use sound clinical judgement Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and to adapt to changing conditions Physically able to perform the duties of pre-hospital emergency care Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely and effectively knowledge of legislation and regulations which governs practice Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System.
