Position #: 000209 Union: HSAS Facility: Biggar & District Health Centre City/Town: Biggar Department: Ambulance - Land Type: Casual FTE: 0 Shift Information: Days, Nights, Evenings, Weekends, Standby Relief: No Float: No Field Hours: No Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Emergency Medical Technician $29.909 to $36.572 Travel Required: No Job Description: Reporting to the Manager or designate for the area of province they are working, the Emergency Medical Services - EMT/PCP responds to emergency and non-emergency events. and provides assessment, treatment and transportation of the ill or injured persons consistent with The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and bylaws; and Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) policies, procedures and work standards. Human Resources Exemption: No Education Primary Care Paramedic Certificate from an approved educational institute Licenses Valid Class 4 driver's license Other Education and Training Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR) International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS) Competencies Interpersonal skills Written Communication Skills Conflict resolution skills Verbal communication skills Basic - Computer skills Listening skills Knowledge and Abilities knowledge of legislation and regulations which governs practice Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely and effectively Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System. Responsibilities
The Emergency Medical Technician responds to emergency and non-emergency events, providing assessment, treatment, and transportation of ill or injured persons. This role is consistent with the Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and various clinical practice protocols.
