Position #: 195136 Union: HSAS Facility: Kyle Health Centre City/Town: Kyle Department: Ambulance - Land Type: Part-time regular FTE: 0.75 Shift Information: Days, Nights, Evenings, Weekends, Standby Hours of Work: 112 hours per 4 weeks Relief: No Float: No Field Hours: No Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Emergency Medical Technician $29.909 to $36.572 Travel Required: No Job Description: Reporting to the Manager or designate for the area of province they are working, the Emergency Medical Services - EMT/PCP responds to emergency and non-emergency events, and provides assessment, treatment and transportation of the ill or injured persons consistent with The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and bylaws; and Saskatchewan health Authority (SHA) policies, procedures and work standards. Human Resources Exemption: No Education Primary Care Paramedic diploma (PCP) Licenses Valid Class 4 driver's license Other Education and Training Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS) Current CPR certification International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS) Competencies Listening skills Basic - Interpersonal skills Written Communication Skills Verbal communication skills Knowledge and Abilities Physically able to perform the duties of pre-hospital emergency care Ability to work independently and as a member of a team Ability to function effectively in high stress and in emergency situations Conflict resolution skills to effectively handle difficult issues Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office programs (Word/Excel/Outlook) Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely and effectively Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking Able to safely and consistently lift/load stretcher on a regular basis Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System.
