Position #: 175837 Expected Start Date: June 06, 2026 Union: HSAS Facility: Unity Health Centre City/Town: Unity Department: Ambulance - Land Type: Part-time temporary Expected Up to Date: December 31, 2026 FTE: 0.75 Shift Information: Days, Nights, Evenings, Weekends, Standby Number of Hours per Rotation: 168 hours per 6 weeks Relief: No Float: No Hours of Work: EMS Hours Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Emergency Medical Technician $29.909 to $36.572 Travel Required: No Job Description: Reporting to the Manager or designate for the area of province they are working, the Emergency Medical Services - EMT/PCP responds to emergency and non-emergency events, and provides assessment, treatment and transportation of the ill or injured persons consistent with The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and bylaws; and Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) policies, procedures and work standards. Human Resources Exemption: No Education * Primary Care Paramedic diploma (PCP) Licenses * Valid Class 4 driver's license Other Education & Training * Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS) * Current CPR certification * International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS) Competencies * Basic - Interpersonal skills * Written Communication Skills * Listening skills  * Verbal communication skills Knowledge and Abilities * Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking * Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and to adapt to changing conditions * Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System. * Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely and effectively * Ability to be resilient * Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office programs (Word/Excel/Outlook) * Conflict resolution skills to effectively handle difficult issues * Ability to work independently and as a member of a team * Ability to function effectively in high stress and in emergency situations * Able to safely and consistently lift/load stretcher on a regular basis * Ability to exhibit situational awareness * Physically able to perform the duties of pre-hospital emergency care * Knowledge of EMS Practitioners legislation/protocols/scope of practice Other Information * Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level * Scheduled hours of work may be reduced during the rotation stipulated when a statutory holiday is recognized during that period.
