Position #: 000860 Expected Start Date: October 11, 2025 Union: HSAS Facility: Kindersley Health Centre City/Town: Kindersley Department: Ambulance - Land Type: Casual FTE: 0 Shift Information: Days, Nights, Evenings, Weekends, Standby Relief: No Float: No Field Hours: No Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Emergency Medical Technician $29.909 to $36.572 Travel Required: No Job Description: Reporting to the Manager or designate for the area of province they are working, the Emergency Medical Services - EMT/PCP responds to emergency and non-emergency events. and provides assessment, treatment and transportation of the ill or injured persons consistent with The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and bylaws; and Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) policies, procedures and work standards. Human Resources Exemption: No Education Primary Care Paramedic Certificate from an approved educational institute Licenses Valid Class 4 driver's license Other Education and Training Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS) Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR) Competencies Listening skills Verbal communication skills Basic - Computer skills Interpersonal skills Written Communication Skills Conflict resolution skills Knowledge and Abilities Demonstrated ability to use sound clinical judgement Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System. Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and to adapt to changing conditions Ability to function effectively in high stress and in emergency situations Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely and effectively Ability to work independently and as a member of a team knowledge of legislation and regulations which governs practice Able to safely and consistently lift/load stretcher on a regular basis Physically able to perform the duties of pre-hospital emergency care Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking Other Information Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level Must be able to respond to the ambulance within 10 minutes when on-call Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement
